"I found myself unable to put this book down because I was so desperate to know what happened next. But Mr. Blake knows perfectly well how to tease his readers and keep them hooked. He wound in and out of the main action so skilfully, there was no way I was going to stop reading until the last word. The ending is extremely satisfying.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book, even to non-fantasy readers. It is action cover to cover, it is fun, it is engaging - there is nothing I didn't like about it. It more than deserves the five stars I give it."

"The reason why I love independent authors is because of gems like this. Never have I hated a main character more only to find myself cheering for. To grow with a character in his own personal journey is impressive and shows the skill of a true storyteller."

"Blood of the King is a riveting story filled with twists and turns. It has a little bit of everything that makes high fantasy great- kings and knights; loyalty and betrayal; magic in various forms: curses, necromancy, illusion, blood magic, shape-shifting; monsters: undead soldiers, giants, dragons; prophetic dreams; even a cursed land filled with dangers at every turn.

The writing is extremely descriptive. It is gritty and raw--definitely not for the faint of heart.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading the other books in this series."

"I really loved this book, I gave it a much deserved 5 out of 5 because I thought it was awesome. I loved the storytelling and the world building. I really liked the way the author describes the characters and the environments in this world. It definitely has a very strong epic fantasy feel to it. This book really has everything...there are warriors, undead, dragons, magic, sorrow, sex, treachery and romance. All of these things combined make for a really interesting, entertaining read.

I found myself growing to love some of these characters and I was really sad when some of the characters were lost. There were also pieces of the story where I felt so touched and also parts of the story where I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't put the book down because it was so good!!

I really recommend giving this book a read if you are a fantasy fan! It's a really fun, good sized read that will have you not wanting to stop reading!"
